Happy June! Doesn’t June just seem like such a great month?

Today is National Go Barefoot Day. This may seem like another random National Day, but this began in 2004 after a huge tsunami and flood disaster. It started as a way to get people to donate gently-used shoes to others around the world who have no shoes. So far, 19 million shoes have been donated. What a great way to help someone.
So if you go barefoot today, think about what it stands for–think about how you can help other people today. Maybe it’s helping your mom go through old shoes and donate them, maybe it’s giving food to a shelter–there are lots of opportunities if you look for them.
Let the eagerness you showed in the beginning be matched now by your giving. Give in proportion to what you have.12 Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly.
2 Corinthians 8:11-12
Dear Lord, thank you for what you’ve blessed me with. Give me an opportunity today to be generous and help someone. Amen.
