You may not know the story of Ruth in the Bible, but her husband died, and she had to decide whether to stay with her mother-in-law, or go back to her own people. She chose to stay with Naomi, her mother-in-law and remain loyal to her.
The story of Ruth teaches about love and loyalty, but also it shows that God uses normal people like you and me. Ruth was not a Jew, was from a different country, she was someone others looked down on–she was poor and her husband had died–all things that people could disrespect her for. But God used her to keep the family tree going towards Jesus birth (she was David’s great-grandmother).

God uses ordinary, everyday people like you and me. What does he have planned for you?
“Do not plead with me to abandon you,
Ruth 1: 16
to turn back from following you.
For where you go, I will go,
and where you stay, I will stay.
Your people will be my people,
and your God my God.
Dear Lord, Use me for your kingdom today. I’m not sure what that is or what it even means, but I’m here for you today Lord. Amen.
