There are a lot of stories in the Old Testament, where someone offers a sacrifice to God –and if it’s an honest sacrifice made with the right attitude, is describes it as having a pleasing smell to God. In Ephesians, it shows how Christ on the cross was a pleasing sacrifice. Jesus sacrificed himself as an offering to God, similar to how Noah made a sacrifice to God after the flood.

Live a life of love. Love others just as Christ loved us. He gave himself for us—a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice to God.

Dear Lord, Thank you for saving me. Help me to give honest offerings to you every day, based on my talents and abilities. Amen.
