Fun fact: during WW1, a soldier made a black bear his pet, and named it Winnie. It later was at the London zoo, where the son of book author A.A. Milne visited it regularly. The boy’s name–Christopher Robin.
If you’re familiar with Winnie the Pooh stories, there’s a character named Eeyore. His famous saying is “Thanks for noticing me”. Eeyore is kinda negative and looks for the worst possible things to happen in life.
Some people do that–I know I sometimes think about what could go wrong instead of what may go right. We’re all created differently, and some of us are more negative. But with practice, you can become more positive.
This week, we’ll talk about positive thinking a bit. For today, try and notice when you say something is going to be awful, or it won’t work. Instead of trying to be right all the time and predict things will be bad, how about giving the world hope? We need more hope in the world, but we’ll talk about that tomorrow.
Always be full of joy. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ERV)
Dear Lord, Forgive me for being negative. It’s hard to be positive sometimes, but teach me how. Help me today to notice when I’m negative, so I can work on new habits. Amen.
