We’re all different. Some people tend to be more of a worrier than other people. Do you struggle with that? Sometimes we have real problems to worry about, like someone is sick, or there’s a big project to finish for school. But other times, our minds make up problems. For some people, they struggle with negative thoughts, to where their brain thinks of the worst possible situation.

There are some people who think you can just choose to turn off negative thoughts, but it’s definitely a challenge to re-train your brain. God understands that it’s not an easy fix. It’s a pretty cool thing to know that God knows us so well that he knows if we worry too much or get anxious over things. He doesn’t tell us to stop it, but he does tell us to not be anxious. How do we do that? By bringing those worries to God in prayer. And he’ll send us peace. Cool, huh?

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6&7 (NIV)

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6&7 (TLB)

Dear Lord, Forgive me for worrying about things, when I do know that you are in control. Help me to bring my worries to you, and teach me how to search for your peace. Amen.
