I’m sure you never have nights that you’re actually tired and are really looking forwards to going to bed, right? Or maybe you really are tired, you really are needing to go to bed early, but… you won’t admit it. Funny how we are when we’re younger–we think it’s all about staying up late.
Some days though, you get tired, and not just physically. Have you ever had a day where things went wrong, or you have a burden on your mind, and you’re just plain tired from your emotions? I think that happens more than we admit or realize.
We have a Father who never tires, and never tires of taking care of us. He is ever-watchful and sees our weariness. He knows us, and knows when our minds are exhausted, along with our bodies.
Sleep, knowing He’s watching.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 (NLT)
Matthew 11:28 (NLT)
Dear Lord, Thank you–for taking my burdens, for taking my tiredness, and for giving me peace and rest each night. I love you Lord. Amen.
