In the news, Japan has made 5000 medals for the Olympics next year in 2020. The Summer Olympics are in Tokyo in 2020. Japan is focusing on trying to be ‘sustainable’ , and to not harm the earth as they plan. So how did they do that with the medals? They made them out of 100% recycled materials. How? Most electronics have small amounts of gold, silver and copper (for bronze), so the people of Japan turned in old electronics, like cell phones. It took a huge effort–consider this–according to the article, it takes about 20,000 cell phones to get just over 2 pounds of gold.
That’s a huge commitment for the country of Japan, but how awesome is that? You have a God who has made a huge commitment to you. He is a God of UNCHANGING COMMITMENT to you–his promises to you and his love for you WILL NEVER CHANGE.
God wanted to prove that his promise was true. He wanted to prove this to those who would get what he promised. He wanted them to understand clearly that his purposes never change…
I will be their God,
Hebrews 6: 17, 8:10
and they will be my people.
Dear Lord, Thank you for being a God of commitment, who never changes. You are my God, I am your child. Thank you. Amen.
