I’d tell you the national day today, but I’m too lazy to do it… I barely got this post written… I think I’ll just go back to bed since I’m feeling sooooo lazy…. or maybe I’ll just Netflix and Chill…
Did you figure it out? It’s National Lazy Day. Personally, I think we all have at least one Lazy Day a week, not just one a year. But here are a couple of jokes for you, courtesy of nationalcalendarday.com :
Take this test to prepare yourself for the day. Lazy people fact #72432143726413424. If you were too lazy to read that number, you’re ready to celebrate this day.
What is the official exercise of National Lazy Day? Diddly squats.
We are told by God to rest, but we are also told not to be lazy and that work is good. He gave us Sunday as a day of rest. God wants us to live a balanced life–it’s good to take time to rest, relax, spend time with friends and family. But it’s also good to work, to create, to build. Balance in life is good.
So the earth, the sky, and everything in them were finished. 2 God finished the work he was doing, so on the seventh day he rested from his work. 3 God blessed the seventh day and made it a holy day. He made it special because on that day he rested from all the work he did while creating the world.
Genesis 2:1-3 (ERV)
Dear Lord, help me to find balance in my life, to not be lazy, but to find moments of peace and rest. To not be obsessed with being busy, but to find joy in hard work. Amen.
