PM: August 2, 2019

Even though July 4 is Independence Day, today is the date that most of the people signed the Declaration of Independence, making August 2, the official day that it was recognized. Fun fact: during WW2, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Declaration of Independence was hidden, just in case.
Tonight, let’s be grateful for the freedoms we have. Many people around the world, are fighting for all sorts of freedoms. Even in the US, there are fights going on about gun laws, equality, racism–but we have a lot of things to be thankful for as well. Even if you don’t agree with what goes on in our country all the time, it’s still a good idea to pray for the US, and for wisdom for those making decisions.
In Christ we come before God with freedom and without fear. We can do this because of our faith in Christ.
Ephesians 3:12 (ERV)
Dear Lord, Thank you for where I live and the freedoms I have. Be with the leaders of the world as they make decisions about our climate, our freedoms and our people. Amen.
