When I think about something like D-Day, it makes me a bit ashamed that I get afraid of little things. We all have fears–maybe they are silly ones like spiders, or maybe of the dark. Or maybe you have a bigger fear, like someone you love is really sick with cancer.

God made us all unique, so our fears are ours–even if there’s something you’re ashamed to admit scares you, even if what you’re afraid of may seem small compared to what others have to deal with–you can still take those fears to God. It’s okay to ask him to help you not be afraid of being embarrassed at school, or to not be afraid of messing up in your game–God knows you inside and out and he knows what makes you tick. And he’ll help you get over your fears–even if he doesn’t take it away, he’ll give you what you need to get through it.

So what should we say about all of this? If God is on our side, then tell me: whom should we fear?

Romans 8:31 (VOICE)

Dear Lord, I’m afraid of _____________, help me to learn how to handle that fear and to not worry about it. You are bigger than any of my fears. Thank you Jesus, Amen.
