The days in August are full of bright blue skies–here’s a couple of blue fun facts: You know those lights that make your white t-shirt glow, called blue lights? Bananas glow blue in those lights. Also, some bees that live near a factory that takes care of the M&M waste from the Mars factory (Mars makes candy), started making blue and green honey… beekeepers think the bees were eating the sugar waste from the M&M’s…I guess all that artificial color isn’t good for you after all.

We are told by God to be pure, not artificial. But how do you stay pure in the world? It’s a process, but it’s impossible to not sin. We become 100% pure when we reach Heaven. But God often talks about being pure in heart, and the heart stood for the source of our character. He tells us to guard our hearts.

Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.

Matthew 5:8 (NIV)

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Proverbs 4:23 (ERV)

Dear Lord, Forgive me from my sins of selfishness today. Purify me. Help me to be on guard for sin tomorrow. Amen.
