PM: June 13, 2019

Fun fact for the day: get ready for this one–turtles can breathe through their butts.

Uh, what?

So turtles hibernate in ponds, so they’re underwater the whole time–even with ice covering their pond. But how do they breathe during hibernation? I can’t explain the whole thing, but basically, because they are so cold, they slow down and don’t need as much oxygen, so they can get it through areas with lots of blood vessels in them…that would be their butts.

As weird as that is… when God created the universe, He thought of even those kinds of details. That makes me feel pretty secure that the Lord of Creation is paying attention to my little details.

Regardless of what is going on in the world–whatever bad things you see in the news, homelessness, climate change, violence–God is in control.

Look, if you sold a few sparrows, how much money would you get? A copper coin apiece, perhaps? And yet your Father in heaven knows when those small sparrows fall to the ground. ^30-31 You, beloved, are worth so much more than a whole flock of sparrows. God knows everything about you, even the number of hairs on your head. So do not fear.
