Today is Flag Day. It first became a national holiday in 1916.

Back then, President Wilson stated, “On that day rededicate ourselves to the nation, ‘one and inseparable’ from which every thought that is not worthy of our fathers’ first vows in independence, liberty, and right shall be excluded and in which we shall stand with united hearts.”

Dedicate ourselves to be one and inseparable, which means to not separate. Every thought that isn’t right should be left out, stand with united hearts. Wow. What a great way to think about our country.

This is how we should see ourselves as Christians too–unity, right thoughts and not being separated. Good thought for the day.

So who can separate us? What can come between us and the love of God’s Anointed? Can troubles, hardships, persecution, hunger, poverty, danger, or even death? The answer is, absolutely nothing

Romans 8:35 (VOICE)

Dear Lord, Thank you for my country. It’s not perfect, but help us to become more unified. Thank you for my family of believers, and help me to support them today. Amen.
