Fun fact for the day: Squirrels accidentally plant thousands of trees each year because the forget where they stored their acorns.

Squirrels keep a stash of acorns–they never know where they are going to get food. They need to keep what they get, and plan for the future.

Sometimes we act like squirrels–maybe we keep what what God’s given us. And I’m not talking about money and things, but do you ever keep your energy, enthusiasm or leadership abilities? Think about it–do you give 100% on everything you’re involved with?

That could mean paying attention enough to notice when you should open a door for someone at church, or running your fastest at your game to help your team, or even remembering to clean your room for your parents. You don’t need to keep any of your talents to yourself–go be a leader, go try your hardest.

And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ.

Colossians 3: 23-24 (MSG)

Dear Lord, Thank you for giving me talents and personality to use for your glory. Give me an opportunity to use them, and open my eyes to see how to give my all in every situation. Amen.
